WELCOME TO GAELDANICK GREAT DANES

My Name is Lorna Donald and I want to share with you, how my interest in Great Danes all began. It all started in April 2001 because we wanted a Dog for the family, so after some research we started going to the Championship Dog Shows at Ingliston, near Edinburgh. As we specifically wanted to own a large dog, we visited the Large Breed Rings and came across The Great Dane. When we saw the Breed, that was it.. I had to have one, due to the way they gracefully strode around the Ring, so elegant and Proud.

We spoke to a Lady called Jackie Kevan, who was showing a Harlequin Dane whose name was marcus aurelius @ machamore from the Ravendane line. He was the nicest looking Great Dane that I had ever seen. We then got in touch with a lady at Ravendane,called Joanne, who happened to have a Black Bitch called Ravendane Vito, and we travelled down to see her, and when we set eyes upon her, we realised that we just had to own her... and we did ! we bought her.

A few months later, we received a telephone call from Joanne at Ravendane who asked us if we wanted to show Vito, and we jumped at the chance and entered her in her very First show which was at the Dumfries championship show, where she got a VHC, which we were absolutely thrilled with and then she got 2 Firsts.

One month later, we went to The Working + Pastoral championship show at Ingliston where Vito was awarded another First. I owe it all to Joane Walton of Ravendane Great Danes and would like to Thank her for all her help over the Last year.

We are now members of The Midland & West of England Scottish Great Dane Club, and also The Scottish Kennel Club.
